A NOTE FROM ME

Ok. Onto the point.

Most of us have been networking for years without ever stopping to ask ourselves one simple question:

What do I actually want from this?

We show up, we exchange cards, we follow up with LinkedIn requests, and then... we're not sure what we were hoping would happen.

Intention changes everything. This week, we're getting clear on yours.

Sincerely and with Gratitude

Jenny

  THIS WEEK'S TOPIC

What do you actually want from a network?

Here's something that took me a long time to sit with: you can be incredibly active in networking circles and still feel profoundly unsupported in your business.

More contacts does not equal more connection.

A full calendar does not equal belonging.

It can kinda feel like high school all over again: you have all these “friends” and still feel so incredibly lonely and invisible.

The missing piece, maybe not for the high school healing that may need to still happen a couple decades later, is intention. Not the  — "I want to grow my business" —kind of intention but a deeper, more honest kind.

The kind that requires you to get a little vulnerable with yourself.

What do you actually need right now?

Collaborators?

Cheerleaders?

Honest feedback?

Clients?

Mentorship?

A community where you feel less alone?

These are ALL very different things, and they require very different kinds of connections.

In HeartMath, we work with something called heart-based intention — the difference between a goal you set from your head versus a desire you feel in your body. Head goals are strategic. Heart intentions are alive. They pull you forward in a way that strategy alone never quite does. Finally putting that method into practice is what ultimately led me to finally creating Pitch? Please! And this email! This has been YEARS in the making.

But I needed to identify what I needed.

I needed to lead.

I needed to nurture.

I needed a capsule that could generate genuine connections without some paywall on the other side.

I needed to create for myself and others what I personally longed for because I wasn’t finding it anywhere else.

I needed to step out from behind the massage and Bowenwork table and step INTO the work I LOVE to do which is helping clients find their way to living responsive, regulated and resilient lives

When you walk into a room with a clear, felt sense of what you're genuinely looking for, something changes.

You stop scanning for "useful" people and start noticing real human beings.

You stop performing and start listening. You stop collecting and start connecting.

Clarity about what you want also protects you from over-giving, over-promising, and over-extending to connections that aren't actually aligned with where you're going. It's not about being transactional — it's about being honest.

And for me, that’s Pitch? Please! I’m not offering anything else beyond the gatherings and this newsletter. I genuinely just want to grow alongside each and every one of you and utilize with ease and confidence the networking skills we gather and create together.

  THIS WEEK'S PRACTICE

Your network needs audit

Set aside 15 quiet minutes. Grab your journal or open a blank document. Work through these questions slowly:

1. Right now, in this season of my business and life, what do I most need from the people around me?

2. When I imagine the ideal outcome of a year of intentional networking, what does that actually look like?

3. Who in my current network already provides some of this? Am I nurturing those relationships?

4. What kinds of connections am I pursuing that aren't actually aligned with what I need right now?

There are no right answers. This is about honest self-knowledge — which is the foundation of every meaningful relationship you'll build from here.

  MEMBER SPOTLIGHT

Meet Dawn Durocher who loves helping people make the Mind, Body and SOLE connection!

Meet Dawn Durocher

Hi, I’m Dawn Durocher, owner of Body & Sole Wellness Spa (https://www.bodyandsolewellnessspa.com/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) in Rochester, NH. I’m a Licensed and Medical Nail Technician with over 20 years of experience, blending holistic wellness, foot health, and prevention education through my Mind–Body–Sole approach. What lights me up most is helping women reconnect with their bodies through awareness, self-care, and the stories their feet are trying to tell them.

What unexpected need did your network end up meeting for you that you never would have predicted?

I didn’t realize how much I needed genuine connection, collaboration, and support from people who truly understand the ups and downs of building something meaningful. I came in thinking mostly about business growth, but what I found was a nonjudgmental, encouraging community that helped me feel more confident sharing my voice, ideas, and bigger vision.

What do you wish more people knew about what you do?

I wish more people understood that foot health is about so much more than feet. The way we walk, balance, breathe, move, and even handle stress can show up in our feet long before pain becomes a bigger issue. My work is really about helping people slow down, listen to their bodies sooner, and use prevention and awareness as part of wellness.

BEFORE YOU GO

Getting clear on what you truly need takes courage — it means admitting you have needs at all. If that's something you're working through, HeartMath coaching can help you access that clarity from the inside out.

If this week's topic stirred something in you, that's worth sitting with. Chat with me over on VOXER or reply to this email and tell me what’s landing with you.

See you next week. Take good care of yourself in every room you walk into.
